Build rather than tear down- Cynthia Ferebee

In her own words

"I became a part of Habitat for Humanity because I wanted to help make this a better world.  I know that as one, I am powerless, but I chose Habitat because it is an organization whose mission is to build rather than tear down, to uplift rather than suppress.   I wanted to be a part of a group that gives hope to individuals.  I wanted to be among people who are kind, who do good deeds, people who truly believe in helping others have a better life.  There are so many negative people, groups and forces in our community, but I believe if more people put aside the negative words and deeds, then the world would surely be a better place.  With Habitat, I can do my small part to raise money, to hammer a nail or to paint a wall.  My small efforts when combined with others of like mind will uplift individuals and communities.  I can help to build a house for someone who wants and deserves a better place to live.  And last, but not least, it is so much fun, so refreshing to be among other cyclists who pedal just for the sport of it.  I love Habitat for Humanity and I support its Christian mission."
